Greetings From The Colonies – Chapman & Bailey Gallery, Melbourne 2019.

When I think about the history of Australia, I think of stories. The stories I was told at school about explorers and squatters, the stories that were read to me as a child about bushrangers and magic puddings and the stories of the first people of this continent, stories that brought this land into being. I hope to be able to tell stories with my work and that you are able to read your own stories in the works. These are stories of colonisation and there is no once place to start, nor is there a defined ending. Some of the works invite you to become a part of the story; there are dials to turn, levers to push and some even have items of jewellery that can be removed to be worn.

Greetings from the Colonies was presented for Radiant Pavilion: Melbourne Contemporary Jewellery and Object Biennial.
